    Quick Project Steps

Learn how to use a ladder stitch and a 3 drop herringbone stitch to create a beautiful 3 Drop Twisted Herringbone Rope Necklace in this Potomacbeads tutorial. 1. Using size 6 DragonThread, pick up 6 Toho 11/0 seed beads and bring the needle back up the first 3 so the beads form two columns. Bring the needle down the last three beads and pick up 3 Toho 11/0 seed beads of a second color and bring the needle back down the last row of beads. Create 3 more rows of ladder stitch using the second color and a third to create a pattern. Roll the project in on itself and bring the needle up the first row of Toho 11/0 seed beads to form a tube. This will form the base for the Herringbone stitch. 2. Watch the 3 Drop Twisted Herringbone Rope Necklace tutorial to follow along with Allie as she guides you through the process of creating this stunning beaded necklace and shows you how to embellish with Potomac crystal bicones in between the Herringbone stitch. 3. Sew together the top bead from each of the herringbone rows together to pull the Herringbone rope necklace closed. Bring the DragonThread through the end of the project and sew through a wire guard. Add a lobster clap and sew back down into the end beads, reinforce. Sew down into the project to get rid of the thread. Knot off and burn the end of the DragonThread. Add the loop of the lobster clasp to the other end of the Herringbone necklace. Have fun learning the different beading techniques you can use to create this amazing piece of DIY jewelry. You’ll love the extra bit of sparkle that the Potomac crystals bring to the 3 Drop Twisted Herringbone Rope Necklace. Try adding a stunning pendant to make a bold statement piece. Technique learned:
