This video tutorial from PotomacBeads shows you how to make diamond shaped beaded beads (flat) using right angle weave (RAW) with crystal bicones and seed beads. The Designer’s suggested colors and materials:
  • 4mm Swarovski crystals in colors like Montana Blue and Ruby
  • Seed beads in two colors: Metallic Dark Raspberry and Galvanized Green Steel (alternatively, Galvanized Cranberry and Bronze)
  • Size 10 English beading needle
  • .006 Wildfire beading thread
  • A thread burner for finishing ends
  • Optional: larger crystal and ear wire for earring assembly

    Quick Project Steps

    Prepare your materials: 4mm Swarovski crystals, seed beads in two colors, a beading needle, and beading thread.
    Start with a stop bead and create a base using a 3x3 right angle weave (RAW) technique.
    Build three rows of RAW, each three units wide, to form the base structure.
    Solidify the structure by adding seed beads along the edges of the RAW units.
    Embellish one side of the structure with 4mm Swarovski crystals, sewing them in between the RAW units.
    Repeat the embellishment process on the opposite side to mirror the first side.
    Attach an ear wire to the top seed bead using wire and an additional crystal for an elegant finishing touch.
