Pea Pod Pendant Tutorial
The Designer’s suggested colors and materials:
  • Seed Beads: Miyuki Delica 11/0 in two colors (main pod color and accent)-Miyuki Seed Beads 15/0 for edging (optional)
  • Pearls or Round Beads for the "peas" inside the pod
  • Beading Thread: Preferably in a color matching the seed beads
  • Needles: Size 12 recommended
  • Wire Guard or a soldered ring for attaching the pendant to a chain
  • Tools: Thread zap (or scissors), needle nose pliers

    Prepare Materials: Gather your beads, thread, needle, and tools.
    Ladder Stitch Base: Start with a ladder stitch to create the base using Delica beads.
    Brick Stitch Tip: Transition to brick stitch to form the narrow tip of the pea pod.
    Herringbone Body: Use herringbone stitch for the main body of the pod, incorporating your choice of "peas" (pearls or round beads).
    Close Pod: Repeat ladder and brick stitches on the other end and close up the pod.
    Add Wire Guard: Attach a wire guard or ring at the top for hanging.
