Pattern - Colette Rope

Like an author, write your own story with the Colette Rope design that Allie created with a multipurpose capability to be a bangle, a necklace, or even a wrap bracelet. It's back to the basics to construct your own simplistic design by incorporating both tubular herringbone and peyote stitches in making a rope-like pattern. Just in time for the holidays, this design fits all beading levels and only involves using Potomac Crystal Bicones and Miyuki Seed Beads!

Quick Project Steps

This PotomacBeads tutorial teaches you how to use Tubular Herringbone and Peyote stitches to create a length of beads that can be used in multiple projects. The Colette Rope is a great way for beaders of all skill levels to practice these useful stitches.
1.Put a size 12 needle on about 5 feet of .006 Wildfire beading thread. Add a stop bead to the thread, leaving about 12 inches for a tail. Pick up 2 seed beads and let them drop down to the stop bead. Pick up 2 more seed beads and bring the needle up through the first 2. This will form a base for a ladder stitch.
2.Watch the Colette Rope tutorial with Allie as she shows you how to create with the different stitches to design the beaded chain.
3.Close up the end of the rope with 11/0 seed beads. Glue a Potomac crystal rivoli to the push clasp. Add a wire guard and clasp end to each side of the beaded rope. Thread back through to reinforce and tie off the thread. Burn the loose ends with a thread zap.
It’s easy to add your own personal touch to the Colette Rope. Use the stitches and techniques in this tutorial to get creative and have fun making your own beautiful beaded jewelry.
