Spike Earrings Tutorial
The Designer’s suggested colors and materials:
  • Czech spikes (5x8mm or 7x17mm sizes)
  • 24 gauge Beadalon ArtWire
  • Earwires
  • Czech glass luster beads (4mm round)
  • Tools: round nose pliers, wire cutters, needle nose or flat nose pliers

    Quick Project Steps

    Prepare Materials: Gather Czech spikes, wire, earwires, and Czech glass beads.
    Cut Wire: Cut two pieces of 24 gauge wire, approximately 3.5-4 inches each.
    Thread Spike: Insert wire through the spike, leaving a half-inch on one side.
    Bend and Cross Wires: Bend wires at the top of the spike, crossing them.
    Form Loop: Use round nose pliers to create a loop for attaching to the earwire.
    Add Beads: Place Czech glass beads above the spike on the wire.
    Secure Beads: Wrap the wire around the base and cut off the excess.
    Attach Earwire: Open the earwire loop, attach the earring, and close.
