Technique Learned: Wire Working The designer's suggested colors & materials: - Potomax Wire 18g - ~1 Foot - Potomax Wire 28g - ~4 Feet - Multi Gemstone Faceted Rondelle 1.5x2mm - ~44 Beads Looking for a fun and easy wire working project? These Bubblegum Earrings are perfect! Using just a few simple wire working techniques, you can create these fun and colorful earrings in no time. Plus, they are a great way to use up any leftover beads or gemstones you may have. So grab your materials and let's get started! All you need is a little wire and a few beads to make your Bubblegum earrings. Start with a 6” piece of 18 gauge wire. Use round nose pliers to curl the wire in a small loop. Take the 30 gauge wire and put it over the other wire, wrap it around twice and trim the end. Feed multiple beads onto the wire at a time in your desired pattern. Make a little loop onto the end of the wire to keep the beads from falling off. One at a time you will hold a bead against the base wire and wrap the thin wire around twice. Once you've wrapped on all your gemstones, wrap the wire around 6 or 7 times and trim it. Create the curvature of your earring. Be careful to make the spirals symmetrical. Cut the wire on a slight angle and file the end so it is not too sharp for your ear! Bubblegum earrings are so easy to make, and they're so much fun to wear! We love experimenting with different techniques and materials to create unique and stylish earrings. PotomacBeads has a wide variety of beads to choose from. Whether you're looking for something simple and elegant, or something fun and funky, we've got you covered.
