Macramé Braiding/Shamballa Tutorial

This video tutorial from The Potomac Bead Company shows you how to make a spiral Macrame stitch using your choice of cording. Instead of the pattern running flat, it spirals or curves around itself. You can also add beads to this as well, which we will show in another video.

    Quick Project Steps

Prepare a length of cording, doubled over and knotted to create a loop for your wrist size.
Cut another piece of cord, about 4 feet long, and tie it around the base cord near the loop knot.
Start the stitch by creating a 'Snoopy's nose' shape with the right cord over the two center cords, then thread the left cord over and through the loop created.
Pull tight and continue with this pattern, always starting from the right side, to create the spiral effect. To add beads, string them onto the center cords before performing the stitch.
Finish the bracelet by tying off the ends, securing with super glue, and adding a button or bead for closure.
