This video tutorial from The Potomac Bead Company teaches you how to make Allie Buchman's "Polar Star Pendant" design. Although we no longer carry many of these beads, you can make similar designs with SuperDuo beads in place of the ES-O, and Daggers or almost any 1-hole bead in place of the spiky button and button beads.

    Quick Project Steps

Prepare Your Materials: Gather all beads, thread your needle with a comfortable length of beading thread, and secure a stop bead.
Start Beading: Begin with ES-O beads and 11/0 seed beads, creating a circular base. Introduce spiky button beads for texture.
Build the First Side: Continue adding layers with ES-O beads and seed beads, shaping the pendant's first side.
Repeat for Second Side: Mirror the first side using button beads instead of spiky ones, creating a visually appealing contrast.
Joining Sides: Carefully stitch both sides together, ensuring a snug fit and adding embellishments for a polished look.
Finishing Touches: Add a bail for hanging the pendant and secure all threads with knots or glue for durability.
