Chain & Bead Extravaganza Tutorial
The Designer’s suggested colors and materials:
  • Rolo chain (specifically a smaller rolo chain for the example)
  • Head pin or craft wire for the pendant
  • Brown amazonite faceted rectangle bead (pendant bead)
  • Wire protectors (2)
  • Crimp beads (4 in total)
  • Clasp for the necklace
  • Beads (Magic copper Czech glass 6mm faceted rounds mentioned, soapstone beads, and 6/0 seed beads used in example)
  • Beading wire
  • Tools: Needle nose pliers, round nose pliers, wire cutters

    Quick Project Steps

    Pendant Preparation: Slide your chosen bead onto a head pin and create a loop above it. Insert the loop through the middle link of a 3-inch rolo chain segment.
    Connecting Chain to Wire: Attach wire protectors to both ends of the chain using crimp beads. Thread beading wire through the protectors, looping it back through crimp beads to secure.
    Beading: Design and bead up the sides of the necklace with your chosen beads, covering the extra wire for a seamless look.
    Finishing Touches: Add a clasp to the ends of the beading wire, securing it with crimp beads. Trim any excess wire.
