Sea Star Earrings Tutorial

In this video tutorial from Potomac Bead Company, Allie teaches you how to make her "Sea Star" bead weaving design. With this design, you can make earrings, necklaces, bracelets, or pendants by linking the components together. You can also use either SuperDuo or Es-O beads in this design, as each will give a different look.

Sea Star Earrings Tutorial
The Designer's suggested colors and materials:
  • Es-O beads (or SuperDuos as an alternative), specifically 20 per earring.
  • MiniDuo beads, 5 per earring.
  • Seed beads sizes 11/0 and 15/0.
  • 2x3mm Crystal Rondelle (optional for center decoration).
  • Beading thread (0.006" wildfire recommended) and needle (size 12 beading needle).
  • Thread burner for finishing ends.
  • Wire guard and ear wires for earrings (additional wire guards for bracelets).

    Start: Begin with Es-O beads to form the center, tying them into a loop.
    Expand: Add more Es-O beads and MiniDuo beads in layers to expand the star shape.
    Detail: Incorporate 11/0 and 15/0 seed beads around the edges for definition.
    Shape: Adjust the structure to create a concave shape, enhancing the star appearance.
    Finish: Attach a wire guard and ear wire to complete the earrings, with an optional crystal in the center for embellishment.
