Diagonal Patterns with Peyote Stitch Tutorial

Many people who know how to do peyote stitch will often still have questions about patterns. Patterns can be done in many ways, but this is one easy and popular method that you can use in your peyote projects regardless of the type of bead (SuperDuo, delicas, seed beads, cubes, round beads). Technique Learned: Peyote Stitch The designer's suggested colors & materials:
  • SuperDuo Beads - Jade
  • SuperDuo Beads - Gold Pearl Shine Dark Green
  • SuperDuo Beads - Gold Pearl Shine Dark Olive
  • Miyuki Seed Beads 11/0 - Matte Metallic Dark Olive Iris
  • Cup Button - Magic Wine

    The Designer’s suggested colors and materials:
  • SuperDuo beads in Jade, Gold Pearl Shine Dark Green, and Gold Pearl Shine Dark Olive.
  • Miyuki Seed Beads 11/0 in Magic Wine.
  • Cup Button in Magic Wine.
  • Wildfire beading thread (0.008), white.
  • Size 10 English beading needle.
  • Scissors or wire cutters and needle nose pliers.
  • Super glue (optional for knots).

    Quick Project Steps

    Prepare Materials: Gather your SuperDuo beads, 11/0 seed beads, cup button, beading thread, and needle.
    Start Pattern: Thread your needle and add a stop bead. Begin your pattern with the three colors of SuperDuo beads, adding two 11/0 seed beads between each SuperDuo.
    Add Clasp: Integrate the cup button at one end of the bracelet as the clasp, using a SuperDuo bead to anchor it in place.
    Continue Beading: Follow the diagonal peyote stitch pattern, alternating between the SuperDuo beads and 11/0 seed beads.
    Finish Edges: Use a picot trim on the edges for a polished look.
    Complete Closure: Create a loop on the opposite end of the bracelet that fits the cup button to secure the bracelet.
