SuperDuo Snowflakes Tutorial

This video tutorial from The Potomac Bead Company teaches you how to make cute snowflake beads using Czech two-hole SuperDuo beads and Miyuki seed beads. This is a fun tutorial with a lot of flexibility in both colors and bead choices, that you can turn into earrings, beads, pendants, and more!

SuperDuo Snowflakes Tutorial
The Designer’s suggested colors and materials:
  • SuperDuo Beads (two different colors: Crystal Matte and Opaque White)
  • Miyuki Seed Beads (8/0 White Ceylon Pearl, and either 11/0 or 15/0 Crystal Matte)
  • Beading Thread (0.006" Wildfire, White)
  • English Beading Needle (Size 10)

    Quick Project Steps

    Prepare Materials: Gather your SuperDuo beads, Miyuki seed beads, beading thread, and needle.
    Start the Snowflake: Thread 10 SuperDuo beads and tie them in a circle.
    Add the Second Color: Sew through the top hole of the SuperDuos, adding an alternate color SuperDuo between each of the original beads.
    Create Snowflake Points: Sew through adding 8/0 seed beads between the pairs of SuperDuos from the previous step to form points.
    Construct the Bail: Use 11/0 seed beads to create a loop for attaching the earring to a bail.
    Finish: Secure the thread with a few knots, cut the excess, and attach the ear wire.
