Quick Project Steps

In this PotomacBeads Tutorial, designer Tereza shows us how to bezel a Pear Drop Crystal using a peyote stitch. With just a few supplies and a little bit of patience, you can create a beautiful and unique piece of jewelry.
1. Using an arm-span length of thread and a size 12 needle, thread on 39 delica beads. Slide them down to the end of thread, leaving a tail at the end long enough to hold onto. Bring the needle back through the first two beads, making a loop. Start with a peyote stitch by picking up one delica bead. Skip the next bead in the ring and go down the third one. Add another delica and continue around the ring.
2. Watch the Bezeled Pear Drop Crystal tutorial to follow along with Tereza to see how to continue with the peyote stitch and switch to a herringbone stitch to add the crystal.
3. When you have completed the bezel, sew up to the top of the pear drop to make a loop of seed beads to hold the earwire. Thread back down to the back of the project and make a knot, thread through a few more beads and burn down the end with the thread burner, do the same with the tail.
