  • Make an Appalachian Bracelet
This video tutorial from The Potomac Bead Company shows you how to make our "Appalachian Bracelet", which features one (or several if you choose) rows of hills made with Miyuki seed beads and Czech Rulla beads. You can also get the same effect with small modifications using Czech SuperDuo beads. Enjoy!

Materials Used To make The  Project

Designer's Material List

The Designer’s suggested colors and materials:
  • Miyuki seed beads size 8/0, 11/0 (mentioned as possibilities for variations)
  • Czech Rulla beads
  • Czech SuperDuo beads (optional for variations)
  • English beading needles, size 10
  • Clasp (type unspecified)
  • Wildfire beading thread (0.006 or 0.008)
  • Thread burner (for cutting thread)
  • Quick Project Steps

Prepare Your Materials: Cut about 36 inches of Wildfire beading thread and attach a needle to each end. Slide on the clasp loop and reinforce by passing through again.
Start the Pattern: Add an 8/0 seed bead through both needles, forming the beginning of the zigzag.
Separate the needles, adding one 8/0 seed bead to each, and drop them next to the clasp.
Add Rulla Beads: Introduce a Rulla bead, passing one needle through the top hole and the other through the bottom. This begins the zigzag pattern.
Create the Zigzag: Alternately add an 8/0 seed bead and a drop bead sequence (8/0, drop, 8/0) on one side and a single 8/0 seed bead on the other. Repeat this pattern, switching sides to form the zigzag.
Finishing Touches: Once the bracelet reaches the desired length, repeat the beginning steps in reverse to attach the second part of the clasp. Secure and cut the thread.
